Specialty Hikes
Specialty hikes are designed to provide an informative experience while focusing on specific topics associated with the Preserve’s management, natural communities, and cultural history.

Check our calendar for the availability of these and other specialty hikes.

Migration Bird Hikes
Join us every spring and fall as we search for migratory birds in the Preserve.  Learn identifying marks and behaviors as we search for these feathered marathon flyers.   Bird enthusiasts of all levels are welcome.  Bring your own binoculars or borrow a pair of ours.  Closed-toe comfortable shoes are a must, and water and a hat are recommended. This walk led by experienced birders.  Pre-registration is required.  Admission:  Free. Recommended for adults.  This hike is normally offered on Thursdays in April and October.

Wild Signs Hike
Everyone has a sign, even wild things.  The many creatures that live in Brooker Creek Preserve leave signs of their daily activities.  Join us for a walk along the Education Center trail to look for and learn to decipher those wild signs.  Pre-registration is required for this program.  Admission:  Free.  Spaces are limited, so register early!  Recommended for families with children ages 10 and up.  This hike is offered periodically on Sunday afternoons.

Young Naturalist Walk
Children are fascinated by the smallest of outdoor wonders.  Join us for a short walk along the Education Center trail to discover the nature of Brooker Creek Preserve.  We use all of our senses to bring out the naturalist in children of every age.  Sturdy closed-toe shoes are necessary, water and a hat are recommended.  Pre-registration is required and space is limited.  Admission: Free.  Recommended for families with children of all ages.  This hike is offered periodically on Saturday afternoons throughout the year.
