Specialty Hikes
Specialty hikes are designed to provide an informative
experience while focusing on specific topics associated
with the Preserve’s management, natural communities,
and cultural history.

Migration Bird Hikes
Join us every spring and fall as we search for migratory
birds in the Preserve. Learn identifying
marks and behaviors as we search for these feathered
marathon flyers. Bird enthusiasts
of all levels are welcome. Bring your own
binoculars or borrow a pair of ours. Closed-toe
comfortable shoes are a must, and water and a hat
are recommended. This walk led by experienced
birders. Pre-registration is required. Admission: Free.
Recommended for adults. This hike is normally
offered on Thursdays in April and October.
Wild Signs Hike
Everyone has a sign, even wild things. The
many creatures that live in Brooker Creek Preserve
leave signs of their daily activities. Join
us for a walk along the Education Center trail to
look for and learn to decipher those wild signs. Pre-registration
is required for this program. Admission: Free. Spaces
are limited, so register early! Recommended
for families with children ages 10 and up. This
hike is offered periodically on Sunday afternoons.
Young Naturalist Walk
Children are
fascinated by the smallest of outdoor wonders. Join
us for a short walk along the Education Center trail
to discover the nature of Brooker Creek Preserve. We
use all of our senses to bring out the naturalist
in children of every age. Sturdy
closed-toe shoes are necessary, water and a hat are
recommended. Pre-registration is required and
space is limited. Admission: Free. Recommended
for families with children of all ages. This
hike is offered periodically on Saturday afternoons throughout
the year.
