Picnicking:
One large group picnic shelter is available for visitors near the main parking area. Small family groups may also choose to sit at tables in the screened area of the auditorium building. Both areas are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Help us keep them enjoyable for all visitors by cleaning up and depositing trash in nearby trash receptacles. Please help us maintain a sustainable facility by using recycling receptacles provided for aluminum cans and #1 and #2 plastics.
- Please remember that alcoholic beverages, glass containers, pets and smoking are not permitted in the Preserve.
Restrooms:
Public restrooms are available during Preserve hours and are located in the classroom building. Public restrooms in the exhibit hall and auditorium are accessible during normal Center hours.
Parking:
The parking area is located approximately one mile from the main entrance off Keystone Road. Please help keep our wildlife safe by observing the 15 MPH speed limit. The road to and from the parking area is a one-way scenic loop. Parking is available for cars and buses. Bus parking is located at the south end of the parking lot alongside the main roadway. In addition, handicap parking spaces are available in the main parking area and in the delivery/handicap parking loop.
Please avoid parking alongside the road or on the grass (except when designated as overflow parking). Local wildlife, like the gopher tortoise, often use the shoulders of roads and grassy areas as travel corridors between different habitats. Help us keep them safe by parking only in the designated areas.
The Preserves gate automatically closes and overnight parking is not allowed. Preserve and trail closing times are clearly posted on signs at the Preserve entrance and trailheads. The license plate tags of any vehicle left in the parking lot after closing hours will be noted by local enforcement authorities.
